Sunny, a bright child, seeks to buy an ice cream cone. When her parents are not able to help her, she turns to someone else.

In soliciting help from the tooth fairy, Sunny hopes that her earnings can be enough. The greedy tooth fairy, however, has other plans.

Sweet Tooth is a folkloric nightmare that explores the strain of poverty on the parent- child relationship as well as the fragmentation of self that Black girls experience in the pursuit of joy and pleasure.

A young girl with dark curly hair and glasses sitting on the stairs, resting her chin on her hand and looking contemplative.
A young girl with glasses sitting on a beige couch, looking at her phone, with an adult woman hiding behind a pillow on the couch, peeking out.
A young girl with glasses and puffy hair styled in two buns with yellow hair decorations, sitting on a bed in a room decorated with pastel-colored hanging floral and mushroom illustrations. She wears yellow and denim overalls, surrounded by plush toys, with a piggy bank in front of her. A glow lamp is on a white side table to her left, and a full-length mirror and a stuffed bear are visible on her right.
